Detail

Dr. Sohn’s research interest is neural mechanism of motor control. As its application, he carries on research projects on bi-directional brain machine interface and active-adaptive intelligence for artificial intelligence development. His main research tool is multi electrode implanted array recording and stimulation technique on non-human primate.

He graduated from Seoul National University with bachelor and master degree majoring in nuclear engineering and cognitive science (focused on spiking neural network) respectively. He got Ph.D degree from University of Rochester, in brain and cognitive sciences during which his research theme was sequence motor learning. For his postdoctoral training, he studied on network properties of the primary motor and premotor cortex for motor control at University of Pittsburgh. Before joining Catholic Kwandong University, he was a principle researcher at Medical Device Development Center of Daegu Gyeongbuk Medical Innovation Foundation
