Explanation
Electrospray ionization (ESI) is a mass spect rometry technique that it employed to produce ions utilizing an electrospray by applying high voltage to a liquid to generate an aerosol. This technique is advantageous in observing molecular ion peaks due to its inherent soft-ionization. It is commonly used to analyze the mass of organic molecules.
