Open faculty positions in Neuroscience,
Neurobiology @SKKU

Sungkyunkwan University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions
at all ranks in the broad area of neurobiology. The successful candidate will expect to
develop an outstanding neuroscience research program through expertise in
integrating molecular and systems neuroscience. Furthermore, this faculty member
will expect to develop a translational biomedical research program bridging basic
neuroscience to clinical neuroscience. Those whose work scientifically addresses
imminent issues of neurological/psychiatric disorders are especially encouraged to
apply.

Especially, successful candidates will expect to collaborate with existing faculties
associated with the Institute of Basic Science (IBS) Center for Neuroscience Imaging
Research (CNIR) (Center for Neuroscience Imaging Research, IBS) located at
SKKU. IBS CNIR has an open research environment with first-rate core facilities,
including animal and human MRIs, two-photon microscopes, a super high-resolution
confocal microscope, a histology lab, and rodent and non-human primate animal
housing.

Duties

The successful candidate is expected to maintain an internationally competitive
neuroscience research program with extramural research funds, and to teach
biological courses (e.g., molecular biology, cellular biology, neurobiology) at the
undergraduate and graduate levels.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in neuroscience, neurobiology, or a related field and
productive postdoctoral research experience. The position is competitive with regard
to salary, start-up funds, and laboratory space.

Applications

A cover letter, curriculum vitae, a statement of current and future research interests
(maximum 3 pages), a teaching philosophy statement (maximum 1 page) and
contact information for three references should be submitted. All materials should be
sent to Dr. Minah Suh (minahsuh@skku.edu, minah.suh@gmail.com).

Priority deadline for review of applications will begin January 1 th , 2023 and continue
until the position is filled. For more information, contact Dr. Minah Suh
(minahsuh@skku.edu), a Chair of Faculty Search Committee.
