MRI

MRI Core

The MRI Core trains new users of MRI systems about proper use and safety, maintains the MRI systems and MRI-related peripheral equipment, and provides technical support for users. We have a state-of-the-art, one-of-a-kind MR facility with four high-end MRI instruments (9.4T and 15.2T for animals and 3T and 7T for human MRI). Our 15.2T system has the highest magnetic field for in vivo MRI research in Asia, and our Siemens 7T Terra system is the first FDA-approved 7T system in Asia. We have necessary peripheral equipment (visual presentation, eye tracking, response buttons, headphone for human studies; vaporizers, physiology monitoring, and electrical and optogenetic stimulation systems for animal research). In addition, we have a machine/electronic shop for making customized animal cradles and small objects with 3D printers, repairing electronics, and building RF coils.
