Animal Care Core

The Animal Care Core provides animal care for small and large animals. Both small and large animal housing facilities were designed as in-and-out facilities for animals to be transported back and forth to the labs. The small animal housing facility on the first floor has five holding rooms, equipped with 15 independently ventilated cage racks. The large animal housing facility has four holding rooms, two quarantine rooms, one surgical suite, food storage and preparation rooms, and a mock scanner/training room. The cleaning facility has a cage washer, and an autoclave for sterilizing bedding, cages, and animal feed.
